The winner of the 13. edition of the International Film Festival New Horizons that took place in Wroclaw between 19th and 29th July is “From Thursday till Sunday” by Dominga Sotomayor Castillo. My personal highlight from the festival is, however, Michael Haneke's newest movie “Love,” shown as an opening film in Wroclaw and a winner of this year's festival in Cannes.

10th Brussels Film Festival: "Courage" - a mini study of the state of
masculinity in a contemporary society
Although most reviews of Grzegorz Zglinski's "Courage" shown during the 10th Brussels Film Festival underline the biblical dimension of the story and concentrate on the relationship between two brothers, my attention was strongest attracted by something else.
This is the title of debate taken place on 29 June in Warsaw café Coco de Oro, in which free guests took part, who have been in Poland for several years. This meeting was the part of project Multikulti on the ground realized by Cafê Babel in ten european cities.
Our team has been active for 5 years now, and since two (thanks to the establishment of the Polish office) our activities gained on pace. We organize debates, conferences, panel discussions, provide press patronage and cover local events and cooperate on regular basis with “Czarne” publishing house.
Along with the development of cafebabel.com community website we decided to establish a blog.

The Inauguration of the 8th edition of the Visegrad Summer School will be held on 29th of June 2009 at the Villa Decius in Krakow. This year's School will be opened with a lecture entitled ‘Legacy of Freedom’ by Professor Maciej Koźmiński, Director of the Institute of Diplomacy Collegium Civitas.
The Visegrad Summer School is a two-week educational programme organised by The Villa Decius Association, which provides an interdisciplinary learning space for young Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak students, and for their peers from other Central and Eastern European countries.
We are happy to announce that our team established a partnership with the Erasmus Student Network in Warsaw, represented by ESN at the Warsaw University of Technology. We are going to provide media patronage for ESN events and hopefully organize an event together in the future. We are looking forward to good cooperation!
