The Turks walk out: 'doing an Erdogan'

On 30 January, Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan walked out of a panel discussion on Middle Eastern peace at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He claimed that American moderator David Ignatius shortened his time after Israeli president Simon Peres had rattled on justifying the war and the latest attacks on Gaza. After vowing he would never return to Davos, Erdogan returned home to a hero's welcome in Istanbul. He explained his abruptness by saying he was 'defending the honour of the Turkish people.'
