Italian TV censorship: no sex on Brokeback Mountain
‘Nude’ is in fact ‘normal’ when it comes to terrestrial TV broadcasting in Italy
On 8 December, the Italian TV broadcaster ‘Rai Due’ ran the film ‘Brokeback Mountain’. The film - which thematises a gay love affair between two cowboys - won a Golden Lion Award in Venice, three Oscars and four Golden Globe Awards. Rai censored the film, despite being known for an otherwise liberal approach to the portrayal of lascivious material. (Video: Specialgirl1276/ You Tube)
