Freedom is a woman. Inspired by the famous oil painting ‘Liberty leading the people’ by French painter Eugene Delacrois, the Hot Chicks of Occupy Wall Street blog has captured the said revolutionaries of the American movement in a video. Cue horror all round. With a romantic melody in the background, the camera evokes the nymphs of the American anger, the goddesses of the New York revolution, the dryads…okay, okay, I’ll stop there. The women never agreed to the creation of the video. The accusations? Sexism, anti-feminism, a simplified and perverse representation
