Femen: all out against Euro 2012
Femen protests against Euro 2012, by (cc) euronews/ youtube
It’s well-known that the Ukrainian feminists who make up the collective Femen let naked facts speak for themselves when they protest from Kiev’s balconies against forced prostitution. Recently the bosom friends’ protest has also been more concretely directed against the European football championships in Poland and Ukraine between 8 June to 1 July 2012. Femen say the international sporting event is also an excuse for increased sex tourism in their homeland. Prostitution is legal in Austria and Switzerland where the last Euro cup took place in 2008. In Ukraine it continues to be illegal, but widespread. Things were sure to get physical when Uefa president Michel Platini visited on 26 September
