In Turin, you can hear the rings of anti-immigration tones from the national populist party. Nevertheless, at their offices here they help foreign workers get their correct documents. Luigi Sinatori, the party head of social policy in this northern Italian town, has a sensible explanation for this: ‘the language of Sunday homily is one thing, but daily practice is another’.
