If you’re happy and anti-Berlusconian, clap your hands. European citizens met via Facebook to openly criticise the insufferable behaviour of the Italian prime minister. They chose to be represented in purple - the only colour still not affiliated with any political party, and in Italian, the word ‘viola’ is connoted with the word ‘violation’. No Berlusconi Day didn’t just take place in Italian streets, but also in Brussels, Paris, Copenhagen and Madrid on 5 December 2009. The aim was simple: ‘inform citizens who didn’t have internet access.’ The protest organisers clearly wanted to say it, loud and clear: ‘Berlusconi does not represent us’
