Who am I?

I am a newly qualified interpreter/ translator and I work from French and Italian into English. I live in the UK right now but have spent a lot of time in France and Italy (and hope to go back as often as I can!)

why_participate I really want to work in journalistic translation and I love the way cafebabel operates. It gives me the opportunity to interact with a European community that I have come to miss since returning to the UK to finish my studies after an ERASMUS year in 2005/6. Now that I have finished my MA, I am really looking forward to being more involved again :) /

europe_is A wonderful idea that doesn't always work but is still worth fighting for. I don't think we should ever relinquish our nationalities because home culture is very important, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy being European at the same time. /

food This is an impossible question! I adore my mum's recipe for roast lamb with garlic, parsley and lemon zest, but I can't say no to a good tiramisu or a baguette with Roquefort, honey and dried figs...mmm! /
