Europe in love - or not?

Broadcasting the 9 February 2012, 20:45

Less and less weddings. More and more divorces. More and more children born outside marriage: more than a third of children are born to unmarried parents - this is a record. Valentine’s day is almost among us: we ask if we Europeans are no longer romantic. We look forward to hearing your stories, particularly if you can prove otherwise!

We don't live in the romantic 19th century anymore. We don't live in the 20th century of high consumerism anymore either. We live in a century of survival. Deep financial crisis has affected our everyday life. Marriage and families are a financial hazard and Valentine's Day is yet another effort to maintain a decaying capitalist system. If you really love, you love everyday, not just on Valentine's Day.
