The petition, entitled “Say no to David Bowie dead”, was created by an Italian who lives in Rome, Andrea Natella, on the online activism platform change.org. It is addressed to "God, or whom it may concern". Immediately afterwards, the text was signed by thousands of Internet users.
David Bowie died on the 10th of January 2016, after an 18 month battle with cancer. His prolific career included the creation of many personalities (among them Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke) and an eclectic mix of musical genres. He leaves a lasting impression on the world of music and wider pop-culture.
