On the orders of Archbishop Hieronymus, the Archdiocese publishes for the first time, tables of revenue and expenditure budget for 2010, via its website www.archdiocese.gr.According to the tables, revenues are estimated at 3,457,251 euros and 3,454,220 euros in costs.The finances of the Archdiocese are strengthened by the churches and the investment properties/buildings owned.
The Archdiocese is expected to receive 529,836 euros from the 17 properties that seem to be owned.The proceeds from the chapels of 10 are estimated at EUR 400,000. Some of them are highly profitable because their often completeness in lytourgies and their location (St. Isidore Lycabettus, St. Barbara Psychico etc.). The Archbishop, however, a year ago decided all proceeds from the Chapels pagkaria to be given as a donation in two institutions for children with mental problems.Charitable and social work of the archdiocese is expected to wager for the year 2010 1.264.000 euros.Indeed, according to data published, 320.000 euros will be allocated to support charities, 500.000 euros will pay for the camps held by the church and other costs estimated 500,000 in repairs and in the construction of charity institutions and buildings.The costs of journals and subscriptions is estimated at € 30,000 while the costs for the various events at 25,000 euros.Sources: TA NEA, To VIMA, www.archdiocese.grAuthor: Konstantina
