The Free Iran rally will be held this year on July 1 in Paris. Each year tens of thousands of Iranians and their international supporters gather to show their support for democracy, freedom and human rights in Iran.
Supporters of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) have filmed and photographed themselves holding up photographs of Iranian Resistance President-elect Mrs Maryam Rajavi and slogans in support of the 'Free Iran' rally.
Among the images sent out from the Iranian capital Tehran and other cities including Isfahan, Karaj and Kermanshah, there are slogans written on walls reading "Freedom with Maryam Rajavi - June 2017," "End to forced veiling with Maryam Rajavi - June 2017," and "Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi - June 2017."
Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, recently spoke at a gathering of Muslim and Arab leadership in early June. She also encouraged cooperation on the regional and international level to deal with the threat of the mullahs’ regime, thus supporting the efforts of the Iranian people to achieve a change in leadership.
“Accordingly, we argue that the dispute is not between Shiites and Sunnis, not between Christians and Muslims, not between those in the Middle East and those in the West. There is not a war among civilizations. The main dispute and confrontation is between despotism and fundamentalism on the one hand, and democracy, freedom, and the people who desire freedom and progress, on the other hand,” said Rajavi.
The Free Iran gathering in Paris this summer is just another example of how the Iranian people are speaking out against the current regime and its record of repression and human rights abuses. The speakers and attendees will be focused on creating a plan of action for the international community to support the resistance against the mullahs’ regime.
