The urban movement for the beautification of Athens called ''atenistas'' after a series of actions, now moves to a next step: the creation of ''atenistas map'', a map where every citizen can point problems that his neighborhood faces - from illegally parked cars to destroyed signs or pedestrian streets.

The map works upon the model of '' fix my street'', a system which was first introduced in the UK, where the citizens could point their problems to the public services. The system resulted to a magnificent coordination between the citizens and the public sector in order for their every-day problems to be solved quickly and efficiently.

This is a unique initiative in Greece and it should be expanded in other sectors of the public sphere, since it gives for the first time the ability to coordinate the actions of the public services and the citizens in order to make our life easier and better.

It seems, that this urban movement which started as an amateur effort to ''get the city in our hands''now it gets more organised and professional. Already many sub-groups of the atenistas have been set up and working alongside in order to achieve targeted actions at several points.

We hope that this will become a pilot for the other urban movements in Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Mytilene, Herakleion and Corfu.
