The European parliament has called for more action on climate change objectives. Latest titbit of news from Brussels

Between now and 2050, the European parliament is proposing to increase energy efficiency by 35% and to make this a legal requirement for member states. It also wants renewable energy to account for 60% of our energy consumption, and to bring greenhouse gas emissions down by at least 80%. Parliament has also emphasised the importance of nuclear power's 'contribution to the energy mix'.
